Teen Summer Camp – Young Executive Program

Young Executive Program 2023 (Level 6-8)

Due to the ongoing pandemic and circumstances beyond our control, we have made several adjustments to our Teen Summer Camp 2022 to ensure the safety of our students. We will not be offering our traditional Young Executive program with pre-booked activities. In 2022, teenagers can join our Summer Teen English Program.

Following our award-winning Global English curriculum, this immersive program offers young students the chance to build their language skills while living in an English speaking environment.

  - Core program (28 lessons/week) and Plus program (36 lessons/week) available

VGC’s innovative Young Executive Program provides teens with practical business knowledge and skills. We’ve taken the same key elements from our popular two-week business seminar and tailored it for young leaders. This program is designed for students with a higher level of English (Cambridge level FCE).

Through this program, students will study the core concepts in leadership and entrepreneurship. Students will then apply their lessons in real situations through academic activities. This course equips them with the skills needed to succeed and become leaders of the future.

YOUNG EXECUTIVE COURSES

LEADERSHIP

Students will learn about different styles of leadership and discover their own styles. Our program gives students the chance to apply their new skills to a variety of professional and everyday scenarios. This equips students with life skills needed to help them succeed in the future.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP

This introductory course teaches students the key elements needed to create and run a successful business. For instance, students will work together to develop a business plan. They will also learn how to apply various business frameworks in an international environment.

APPLIED ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

The best way to develop your skills is to apply them. In our Young Executive Program, teachers accompany students on academic activities outside of the classroom twice a week. Through these activities, students will apply their business skills to complete real-world assignments. Students will also use their communication skills to navigate their environment.

Our activities give students the chance to experience Canadian Culture while they study. For example, students may take a trip to the Vancouver Aquarium to analyze their business frameworks. They may also prepare a business plan to address a gap in the Vancouver market. Assignments may even include interviews with Canadian business owners. Through these activities, students learn about various leadership styles and skills.

Program Information

Monday to Friday – 8:45am to 1:50pm

Saturday – Weekend adventure

Duration

Each course is two weeks in length and includes 21 hours of study per week. Students can choose to take only one, or both of these courses and must complete the full course length.

Admission Requirements

13-18 years old
Students must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
To be eligible, students must have an English level of 5.5 IELTS, VGC level 6, or equivalent. Students can take our online placement test to confirm their English level.

Students with a lower level of English can register for VGC’s Teen Summer Camp – High School Preparation Program.
