VGC Summer Camp finds new home in Vancouver’s West End
VGC International College is thrilled to announce that its Summer Camp program for 2023 has found a new home at the King George Secondary School (KGSS) in Vancouver’s West End district.
KGSS is steeped in history being the city’s oldest secondary school with its original building established in 1915, before moving to its current location in Barclay Street in 1963. The public school is part of the Vancouver School Board district and accommodates up to 600 students during the regular school season.
In addition to its learning infrastructure, it also has facilities that look after the student’s overall wellness including an open field area, cafeteria and tennis courts. It is also adjacent to the West End Community Centre which offers access to a fitness center, ice rink and a public library.
More importantly, KGSS is strategically located in one of Canada’s most vibrant and best neighborhoods. It is easily accessible via a range of public transportation options and is just a 5-minute walk for our students staying at the HARO Residences.
“We are pleased to have KGSS host our Summer Camp program. The combination of their exceptional location and facilities, which when combined with VGC’s immersive curriculum and highly-qualified teachers, will provide students with a focused environment to learn English unlike any other,” said Executive Director Dominic Walton.
“KGSS’ will allow us to offer students with a variety of memorable afterschool activities and experiences,” added Youths Program Director Eddy Leite. “The school is within strolling distance of Stanley Park, English Bay and Sunset Beach, and surrounded by a diverse range of restaurants and hotspots, which will give our students plenty of opportunities to practice their English while having fun.”
The VGC Summer Camp is one of Vancouver’s most exciting English summer camp, providing immersive learning programs for youths aged 9 to 17, adults 30+ and families from all over the world. In-class lessons are supplemented with daily opportunities to practice their new skills outside the classroom through practical task or in real-life social situations.
