Meet Julien, a passionate traveler from France, who made his dream of returning to Canada a reality through the IEC Working Holiday Program, supported by AILS and VGC International College as part of the e Languages Canada Consortium! Enrolled in VGC’s Global English Program, Julien arrived in Vancouver in September 2024 and quickly found himself at home in the welcoming and supportive environment of the school. From cultural exchanges to exploring Vancouver’s unique blend of wilderness and modernity, Julien’s journey has been nothing short of inspiring.

Last year, I had the opportunity to study at Université Laval in Quebec, an experience that inspired me to return to Canada. To do so, I needed to obtain a work permit, as getting a Working Holiday Visa in France is particularly challenging. I decided to work with AILS, an organization partnered with Languages Canada, which helped me enroll at VGC International College.
I arrived in Vancouver on September 16, and from my very first day at the school, I felt at ease. The atmosphere is welcoming, the teachers are kind and attentive, and the environment is highly supportive. What I appreciated most was the flexibility in choosing courses tailored to each student’s specific needs.
Now that my program is almost over, I can confidently say that my experience at VGC has been a great success. I thoroughly enjoyed the rich cultural exchanges, the warm and friendly atmosphere, and the wide range of activities available to explore Vancouver and its surroundings. This city has truly captivated me with its unique combination of wilderness and modernity. From mountains to the ocean and urban life, Vancouver offers it all.
