VGC International College, as a member of the Languages Canada consortium, is privileged to be authorized to offer work and travel opportunities for eligible individuals through the International Experience Canada (IEC) program.

International Experience Canada (IEC) gives youth the opportunity to travel and work in Canada for up to 2 years. Participants in this program are invited to enroll to our Global English language program, for a minimum of 12 weeks, to enhance their English proficiency. With a Working Holiday visa, participants can start gaining valuable work experience upon arrival in Canada.

WHAT IS IEC?

The IEC program is an initiative of the Federal Government of Canada aimed at promoting cultural exchange between Canada and partner countries. It invites individuals between 18 and 35 years old to come work and travel in Canada and help them:

• Gain valuable international work experience
• Improve their language skills
• Work in Canada and fund the trip of a lifetime

WHAT IS THE VGC WORKING HOLIDAY program?

VGC provides participants with a sponsorship letter for the Working Holiday visa through the IEC program as well as 12 weeks of comprehensive English training. But this is not all, with this package we will get you job ready with specialty lessons such as English in the Workplace and our Job Search class that trains you for your job interview, reworks your resume and makes sure you understand the expectations of the Canadian workplace. Furthermore, our package includes additional student services such as workshops, after-school activities, and personalized support in multiple languages, ensuring students are fully equipped for success.

This package covers the following:

• Global English Plus (27 hours/week)
• Job Search Class
• English in the Workplace class
• Working Holiday visa sponsorship
• Medical insurance (12 weeks)
• Administrative and material fees
• Special promotion on tuition for extended weeks of English classes

are you eligible to join the iec program?

Here are the general eligibility criteria to participate in the IEC program. You need to meet ALL required criteria to obtain a work permit. For more information, please visit the IEC website.

• Must be between 18 and 35 years old
• Citizen of a country or territory that has a Youth Mobility Agreement (YMA) with Canada
• Must not bring any dependent family members to Canada
• Provide a proof of $2,500 (minimum) to cover expenses in Canada
• Provide proof of insurance for the duration of stay in Canada
• Must not be inadmissible to Canada
• Show round-trip ticket or proof of sufficient funds to cover your departure from Canada at the end of your authorized stay
• Paid the program and registration fee to VGC International College
