Winter Camp at VGC – Dandhara’s Experience
Meet Dandhara from São Paulo, a 15-year-old student who joined VGC’s Winter Camp for four weeks in January 2025. She came to improve her English, but found so much more – new friendships, unforgettable memories, and a greater sense of confidence. From exploring Vancouver’s landmarks to experiencing different cultures, here’s what she had to say about her time at VGC!
“My experience at VGC was wonderful and very welcoming. The teachers were always attentive and supportive, ready to answer any questions while delivering the content with expertise and in an engaging way, making it easier to learn English and understand it better. The program assistants were always fun and willing to help in any situation, especially the program director, who continuously introduced us to the sights and helped us feel included in a cheerful and enjoyable way.
The activities were the best part exploring Vancouver’s tourist attractions with my classmates was incredibly fun, and discovering a little more of the city every day was an unforgettable experience. This exchange program was truly unique, and I can’t even put into words how much it contributed to my personal and professional growth. In just one month, I experienced different cultures, made amazing friendships, and improved my English. It was a time of intense learning but always filled with joy and fun.
I am deeply grateful to everyone at VGC for making this experience so special without them, none of this would have been possible. Their constant motivation to practice English at all times not only made communication easier but also helped a lot on days when I explored the city on my own.”
