Hello! My name is Yi-Sin Wang. I am an insect teacher from Taiwan. I am very passionate about animals, so I explore wildlife as often as possible.
大家好！我叫王怡心，在台灣是一位昆蟲老師。 我非常熱愛動物，只要有機會就會去探索野生動物。
What attracted you to enroll in the English program at VGC?
I enrolled in the IELTS program at VGC because I would like to teach children about animals in English in the future. I hope that after completing the program, I can obtain an IELTS certificate to prove my English proficiency. Moreover, I believe this will allow me to reach more people and encourage wildlife protection.
因為我希望能提升英文口說能力，未來有機會可以用英文帶領小朋友認識動物，也希望能透過考取 IELTS，取得英文能力的正式證明。
How would you rate the support you got from your teachers and staff?
I would give it five stars. ★★★★★
The teachers and staff take great care of every student. In particular, my IELTS teacher provided individual feedback and encouraged us to improve. I believe this requires a great deal of dedication. In addition, the staff are very friendly and always stay connected with students. Whenever students face difficulties or have trouble adapting to classes, there are multiple support channels available to help solve the problems.
Finally, one of my favorite staff members at the school is Abby, the school dog! I could play with her during break time.

因為 IELTS 班的老師每次模擬考後會針對個人錯誤逐一確認並給予指導，我覺得這點非常難得。
如果遇到問題，學校裡有很多窗口可以協助解決或討論，例如：不適應教學方式、課程難度、同學之間，或與老師之間的溝通問題，都能立即找到對應的窗口處理，我覺得這點非常重要。
學校的氣氛也很和樂。雖然是老師和工作人員，但在日常相處中，大部分的老師都很幽默，跟學生有很多互動。
最後！我要介紹我最愛的工作人員——Abby 校狗！只要她有來學校，我都會固定跟她報到、陪她玩。
In what ways has the course enhanced your English skills and development?
The IELTS class is quite challenging, and the overall English level of my classmates was higher than mine at the beginning. However, after each bi-weekly mock test, teachers provided detailed feedback and helped us identify our weaknesses. Based on this, we were able to adjust our elective classes. Moreover, the strict English-only policy greatly improved my speaking ability. Because of the immersive environment, my confidence and fluency increased significantly.
IELTS 班的課程非常困難，一開始讓我感到相當挫折。 但透過每兩週一次的 IELTS 模擬考，老師會針對個人的弱點與你討論如何進步，接著可以依照弱點選修相關課程。這個制度非常有彈性，因此幾乎每次成績都有進步。如果發現課程不適合，也可以在老師或辦公室的協助下進行調整。
再來就是全英文的學習環境，我覺得非常重要。 因為並不是每一所語言學校都會嚴格落實，但 VGC 的規定真的很嚴謹，任何工作人員聽到都會即時提醒。所以即使一開始不熟悉英文口說，在每天高頻率的聽與說之下，都能感受到顯著的進步。
Are you happy with the classmates you have? Have you been able to create networks or connections through this program?
Yes, I am very happy with my classmates. The multicultural environment is one of the highlights of this program. We have opportunities to meet people from different countries and exchange ideas. Even for introverted students, the frequent speaking activities create many chances to build connections.
同學們都很好 ！語言學校的特色是同學都是來來去去，但是相對的你可以交到來自世界各地的朋友，可以拓展一個人的視野和世界觀 ！
What made you want to study here in Vancouver? Is there a memorable moment or activity that you’d like to share?
I chose Vancouver because it is surrounded by nature. After school, I was able to explore North American wildlife, such as beavers, black bears, raccoons, bald eagles, and owls. One of my most memorable experiences was a school trip to Grouse Mountain, where I saw rescued grizzly bears up close for the first time. We were also lucky to encounter a mother deer and her fawn along the trail. Watching the sunset while enjoying hot chocolate made the experience truly unforgettable.
However, there are more. For instance, I wore orange clothes and a pumpkin doll for a week, so I started to get a new nickname, “Pumpkin.” Moreover, the graduation ceremonies every week are lively.
對我來說，最吸引我的當然是這裡的自然環境。 而且交通非常方便，每天下課後，我都能利用時間到野外尋找動物， 尤其是 Stanley Park，開車不到 20 分鐘，甚至走路就能到。
因此，在這裡可以看到許多分布於加拿大或北美的野生動物， 例如：河狸、美洲黑熊、鹿、北美浣熊、白頭海鵰、貓頭鷹等。
我印象最深刻的是跟著學校前往 Grouse Mountain， 看到當地救援的兩隻棕熊，真的非常可愛。 因為在野外看到棕熊其實相當危險，所以即使是被救援照養的熊， 能近距離觀察，甚至看到餵食過程，仍然讓我覺得非常幸運、也非常開心。
除此之外，我們還看到一對鹿母子站在路邊， 再加上黃昏時分的夕陽、美景與熱可可，簡直是完美的組合。
但是美好回憶還有很多，像是我因為萬聖節，在學校穿了一個禮拜的橘色毛衣和南瓜頭飾，從此之後變成有名的南瓜同學。然後每個禮拜都有超級熱鬧的畢業典禮！
Would you recommend VGC to other students who want to study English in Vancouver?
Yes, I would recommend VGC because my English ability improved significantly during my studies.
會喔！ 因為我在這裡的三個月英文進步很多 ！但是當然，很重要的是要找到適合自己的課程
Would you recommend your agency? Why?
I would also recommend my agency, EDM. The staff member, Ariel, was very responsible and responsive. She provided thorough assistance with documents and continued to check in on my school and homestay experience after I arrived in Canada.
我的代辦是 EDM，負責接洽的是 Ariel，她非常認真負責，所需的資料與文件都準備得相當完整。抵達加拿大後，也會主動關心寄宿家庭與學習狀況，因此我真心推薦。
