Growing with VGC

I have been working at VGC Language School as a Marketing Assistant for just a few months and I have seen so many changes since I started! As some people like to say, we are the “purple school.” A quick look at our logo or website will help you to understand why. Our purple school has grown, and is growing every single day a little bit more.

First at all, VGC is proud of its staff. This is one of the first things I noticed when I started working here: the staff is amazingly friendly and extremely qualified at the same time. From our teachers to our marketers, we are happy to work with competent people who know their students and their markets. Recently, we were happy to welcome new Chinese and Korean marketers to our team, which is now complete to cover Latin America, Europe, Russia, East Asia and the Middle East.

Growing also means getting better and stronger. That is why we have been working hard to improve our branding and to make VGC a one-of-a-kind language school. Last year, VGC changed its logo to make it look better and have a stronger identity. In 2014, we continued to strengthen our brand and improve our marketing strategy. In order to do so, VGC has decided to get a new look and – I have to say – the first results are fantastic!

A few weeks ago, we got new brochures, flyers and business cards. Last week, a new carpet, new blinds and a huge new TV in the student lounge. Even more recently, we got new outdoor and indoor VGC signs that look awesome!

Oh, did I tell you about our brand new website? I am particularly proud of this one, because I have been working on it very closely. It contains new information about the school, new sections, new pictures and a lot of new exciting stuff for VGC students. The most amazing part: it is available in eight languages so far: English, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and Arabic! French and Italian are coming soon.

If we want our school to be the best, it is because we want our students to succeed in what they do and to be happy of studying here. We also want to get students from all around the world. We are very proud to have welcomed students from over 40 countries so far, which gives the school one of the best nationality mixes in Canada.

ICEF 2014

Last week, I was part of the 2014 ICEF in Vancouver. ICEF is the most popular international student recruitment event in the education industry.

It was completely new for me, but I could see the importance of networking and having the opportunity to show that we want to be sure to match the agents and students’ needs – always focusing on academics and results. With our new communications material and our fresh vision of the school, we were ready to make a difference – The VGC Difference.

Speaking of The VGC Difference, we are also proud of three new exciting student services that we have recently introduced:

  • We now have a Study Lab available four days a week to students who want extra support and feedback on their classwork and homework.
  • Every Friday, we also organize Workshops about different topics such as employment or immigration, giving students an exclusive opportunity to get information and ask specific questions to an expert.
  • Finally – and this is my favorite – we have created Continuing Studies, an online platform where graduated VGC students can get a free lesson every week for one entire year. Yes, this is what we do! By doing so, we hope to enable all our students to succeed in their studies and achieve their personal goals.

I am happy to be part of the VGC Team, and I am proud to contribute to the daily marketing strategy of the school. We have been working very hard to get these results, and we will keep working even harder to make VGC one of the best language schools in Canada!
