Student Movie Review: Crazy Rich Asians by Tomoko

An awesome example of a review from the Term 5, Week 4 6D.

Tomoko graduated from VGC International College on September. 14th, 2018. For her last exam in Level 6, she was asked to write a review of a recent movie, concert or live performance she attended. Thanks to an invitation from her homestay family, she’d just seen the movie “Crazy Rich Asians” , and was pleasantly surprised by not just how much she enjoyed it, but by how much she understood!

“Crazy Rich Asians” is an entertaining movie that has an enjoyable plot that was easy to understand and a very likeable cast.

When my host family asked me if I wanted to see that movie, I was not sure if I could understand it because of my poor English. Also, it was kind of difficult to listen to every word since it didn’t have subtitles. However, as the movie went on, I was getting into it, just like I was watching a Japanese movie. As the movie progressed, I found myself laughing a lot during all the scenes with parties, they were very crazy. An interesting part of the movie for me was when the lead actress in the film stood up to the mother.

Overall, I really liked the movie because it exceeded my expectations of how much I believed I would enjoy it, and I highly recommend this funny, heartwarming and great movie.
