Our weekly workshops go beyond traditional language study. These interactive training sessions have rotating topics and are designed to help students by providing practical information on a variety of different topics. The workshops cover topics such as Resume and Interview skills, Social Media, Online Study Skills, and Canadian Culture!
Resume and Interview Skills: This workshop is for all students who are interested in applying for a job in a North American company. We’ll cover tips on how to write the perfect cover letter, explain the ins and outs of a Canadian-style resume and cover strategies for a successful job interview.
Social Media: Social media is an important factor in not only getting a job but learning English! Learn the ins and outs of networking online and understanding all those weird English words you see on Twitter. Topics might include: Linkedin do’s and don’ts, social media abbreviations and slang, how to network online, and social media culture.
Online Study Skills: In today’s world, being able to effectively study online is more important than ever. This workshop will help you develop study skills to help you get the most out of the virtual world. Topics might include: making the most of different platforms, effective study skills, and useful self-study resources and how to sue them.
Canadian Culture: Improve your English while learning about what makes Canada Unique. Topics might include Canadian Social Issues, Canadian Stereotypes, Canadian Traditions and Celebrations, Canadian Slang, Canadian Sports, Canadian History and Facts and Stats etc…
