- Memorable moments in Vancouver: “Two memorable moments that I would like to share are the Honda Celebration of Light fireworks. They have a fireworks show from many countries at English Bay Beach every summer. I was there with friends and enjoyed watching the fireworks together. Another memorable moment was riding a bike around the seawall and downtown by myself. Riding a bike is one of my favorite activities. Spending time alone, with beautiful scenery and nice weather, was therapeutic.”
We are excited to introduce Dream, a dedicated student from Thailand who has fully embraced her time at VGC International College. Dream enrolled in the Applied Communications with Co-op program in July 2023, and after completing her academic studies in June 2024, she is now working through the Co-op portion while exploring the beauty of Vancouver.

Could you please introduce yourself?
Hello, Sa wad dee ka. My name is Nahathai Mahapechanon, everyone calls me Dream. Yes, it is my real nickname! I can easily make friends just by talking about how I got my nickname and how the Thai name system works. I am originally from Khon Kaen, which is in the northeastern part of Thailand. I am currently in Applied Communications with Co-op. I started my course in July 2023 and finished the study part in June 2024. Now, I’m in the Co-op part, enjoying working and spending a great summer in Vancouver.
สวัสดีค่ะ เราชื่อดรีมนะคะ (ณหทัย มหาเปชานนท์) มาจากจังหวัดขอนแก่น ประเทศไทย ดรีมมาแคนาดาตั้งแต่เดือนมิถุนายน ปี2566 เรียนโปรแกรม Applied Communication with Co-op เป็นโปรแกรมที่เรียนเกี่ยวอุตสาหกรรมธุรกิจ1ปีและสามารถทำงานได้อีก1ปีซึ่งต้องเป็นงานที่ได้ใช้ทักษะเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่เรียนมา ซึ่งดรีมว่าดีมากเพราะหลังจากได้เรียนมาแล้วเราก็ได้นำมาใช้ในสนามจริง ดรีมเพิ่งเรียนจบได้2เดือน ตอนนี้ก็อยู่ในช่วงที่ทำงานและสลับกับเที่ยวค่ะ :)
What attracted you to enroll in the Diploma in Applied Communications program?
With the outstanding curriculum, I have to take English communication classes for six months which teach about business lexical essentials, proper presentations and also writing essays. Moreover this course gets deep into the business industry, when I read about this program I felt like this course was for me.
เลือกโปรมแกรมนี้เพราะด้วยตัวหลักสูตรที่น่าสนใจและตอบโจทย์กับสิ่งที่ดรีมมองหา ช่วง6เดือนแรกจะเป็นคลาสภาษาที่นะเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการเรียนต่อใน6เดือนหลังซึ่งส่วนตัวดรีมคิดว่าช่วยได้เยอะมากๆค่ะ ทั้งการได้เรียนรู้คำศัพท์เฉพาะที่ใช้ในอัตสากรรมนั้นๆ การฝึกพรีเซนเทชั่นและการเขียนรายงาน รวมไปถึงการทำIelts mock test ในทุกเดือน เพื่อจะได้รู้ว่าภาษาของเราพัฒนาไปถึงไหนแล้ว และเป็นประโยชน์สำหรับคนที่มีแพลนจะสอบในอนาคตด้วยค่ะ ในส่วนของ6เดือนหลังเป็นการเรียนเกี่ยวBusinessทั้งหมดค่ะ ตอนแรกดรีมคิดว่าเราจะเรียนได้มั้ยถ้าไม่มีความรู้พื้นฐานมาเลย แต่พอได้เรียนเหมือนอาจารย์ก็เริ่มปูพื้นฐานให้ใหม่เลยค่ะ อาจารย์พยายามให้ทั้งห้องอยู่ในจุดเดียวกันและเรียนรู้ไปพร้อมๆกัน
In what ways has the course enhanced your professional growth and development?
My English language skills are significantly improved which helps me be more confident using English on a daily basis or working environment. If i talk about the business part I gotta do many assignments and it helps me find strengths and cope with weaknesses.
โปรแกรมนี้มีส่วนช่วยให้ดรีมพัฒนาภาษาขึ้นเยอะมากๆค่ะ ด้วยโรงเรียนมีกฎให้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเมื่ออยู่ในแคมปัสและในห้องเรียนมีกิจกรรมให้พูดแสดงความคิดเห็นค่อนข้างบ่อยค่ะ ทำให้มั่นใจมากขึ้น ไม่อยากเคลมว่าพูดเก่งขึ้นแต่รู้สึกว่าตอนพูดแล้วความกังวลที่กลัวจะผิดน้อยมันลงค่ะ ในส่วนของคลาสธุรกิจ ได้ค้นหาตัวเองมาขึ้นค่ะ รู้ว่าชอบอะไรหรือไม่ถนัดด้านไหน ช่วยในการตัดสินใจที่จะเรียนต่อมากขึ้นค่ะ ตัวของหลักสูตรค่อนข้างเข้มข้นเรื่องของassignment บ้างชิ้นต้องทำให้เสร็จภายในเวลาสั้นๆก็ต้องแบ่งงานในกลุ่มกันดีๆ ทำให้ได้ฝึกการบริหารเวลาอยู่บ่อยๆค่ะ
Do you think this Diploma will help you in your future career?
Definitely, because the first thing that I realized is my English improved quite a lot, especially in the speaking part. In terms of business, it helped me design which field that I Interested in and now I have the foundation to pursue my goal in the future.
แน่นอนค่ะว่าภาษาอังกฤษพัฒนาขึ้นซึ่งเป็นประโยชน์มากๆ ระหว่างทางที่เรียนก็ได้รู้จักเพื่อนๆและอาจารย์จากหลากหลายประเทศซึ่งคิดว่าเป็นคอนเน็กชั่นที่กว้างมากๆ ในส่วนของโปรแกรมดรีมคิดว่า ถ้าดรีมเรียนต่อในสายนี้ก็คงได้ใช้อย่างแน่นอนหรือถึงดรีมจะเปลี่ยนไปสายอื่นก็คิดว่าคงได้นำความรู้บางส่วนได้ไปปรับใช้อยู่ดีค่ะ
How would you rate the support you got from your teachers and staff?
During my time at VGC on both campuses, Granville and Hornby, the staff welcomed me warmly from the very beginning. The teachers were not only supportive but also caring, always ensuring that students were doing well both in class and beyond. I received a lot of support from them, as they were always willing to help solve any issues that arose. Even after graduating, I have kept in touch with some of them, and I am grateful for the strong connection. I would rate the support from the teachers and staff 10 out of 10, and I’m very thankful for their support.
สิ่งแรกที่ประทับใจเลยคือสตาฟค่ะ ตั้งแต่เจอกันวันแรกก่อนเปิดเรียนคือเค้าตอนรับดีและเป็นกันเองมาตลอดเลย ส่วนอาจารย์ ดรีมได้เรียนกับอาจารย์หลายคนซึ่งส่วนใหญ่รู้สึกว่าเค้าใส่ใจนักเรียนกันมากๆ นอกห้องเรียนก็ปรึกษาได้ตลอด ตั้งแต่ไม่ได้ไปโรงเรียนสิ่งที่คิดถึงก็มี เพื่อน อาจารย์ แล้วก็สตาฟนี่แหละค่ะ อยากกลับไปเม้ามอยกันสุดๆ.
Are you happy with the classmates you have? Have you been able to create networks or connections through this program?
Yes I am, I made many good friends in my Communications 100 class, which was the first class I took. We stuck together as we moved on to business classes, and we’ve kept in close touch since then. While we didn’t have the same classroom for every class, this gave me the opportunity to meet more friends. I introduced new friends to the group, and they introduced me to theirs. Our social circle grew larger, bringing together a variety of nationalities and cultures, which has been one of the most interesting parts
ช่วงแรกที่มาใหม่ๆก็มีคิดว่าจะมีเพื่อนรึเปล่า แอบส่องว่าเราพอจะเข้ากับกลุ่มไหนได้บ้างนะ อยู่ไปซักพักรู้ตัวอีกที่ก็ได้เพื่อนสนิทตัวติดหนึบเลยค่ะ คิดว่าด้วยตัวโปรแกรมทำให้เราได้เจอเพื่อนที่หลากหลายมาก ต่างคนต่างมา เค้าก็คงอยากมีเพื่อนไม่ต่างจากเรา ส่วนตัวดรีมไม่ได้หาเพื่อนเก่งขนาดนั้นแต่ก็มีเพื่อนในกลุ่มที่เค้าสังคมกว้าง รู้จักคนเยอะมาก ก็มีแนะนำเพื่อนต่อเพื่อนบ้าง ทำให้รู้จักคนในคลาสและนอกคลาสมากขึ้นค่ะทริคที่ดรีมใช้คือยิ้มเยอะๆ เดินผ่านคนที่ไม่รู้จักแล้วมีจังหวะได้สบตา ถ้าชวนคุยไม่เป็นก็แจกยิ้มกว้างๆไป เดินผ่านหลายๆรอบเจอยิ้มเข้าไปก็ต้องมีหยุดคุยกันซักครั้งแหละค่ะ.
What made you want to study here in Vancouver? Is there a memorable moment or activity that you’d like to share?
I always dreamed of living abroad, using English in my daily life, and moving to a place I wasn’t used to. There were three countries that interested me. After considering many factors, I ended up choosing Vancouver, Canada, because of the quality of life, weather, education, and environment. Two memorable moments that I would like to share are the Honda Celebration of Light fireworks. They have a fireworks show from many countries at English Bay Beach every summer. I was there with friends and enjoyed watching the fireworks together. Another memorable moment was riding a bike around the seawall and downtown by myself. Riding a bike is one of my favorite activities. Spending time alone, with beautiful scenery and nice weather, was therapeutic.
ดรีมมีความคิดที่อยากลองใช้ชีวิตที่ต่างประเทศ ได้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษเป็นกิจวัตรและพัฒนาทักษะไปเรื่อยๆ พอมีโอกาศก็พยายามหาตัวเลือกที่ตอบโจทย์และเข้ากลับเราได้มากที่สุดซึ่งผลออกมาเป็น แวนคูเวอร์ ประเทศแคนาดาค่ะ เมืองที่ค่อนข้างเป็นที่รู้จัก มีทั้งธรรมชาติ ป่าสีเขียว ทะเลกว้าง มีกิจกรรมกลางแจ้งให้ทำเยอะมาก แค่ต้องออกไปหาทำค่ะ และส่วนของความสะดวกสบายก็ครบ มีทั้งรถไฟฟ้า เข้าถึงตั้งแต่ตัวเมืองจนออกไปยังเมืองใกล้เคียง ร้านอาหาร ร้านเสื้อผ้า และร้านต่างๆก็แทบจะหาได้ทุกแบรนด์ค่ะ ไม่ได้ต่างกับฟังอเมริกากลางมาก แต่ที่ดรีมรู้สึกคือมีความสงบและความชิลค่อนข้างมาก
ถ้าถามว่าชอบอะไรที่เคยทำตั้งแต่มาแวนคูเวอร์แล้วอยากแนำนำต่อคงเป็น เช่าจักยานปั่นรอบStanley parkแล้วก็รอบเมืองค่ะ วิวเมืองบวกวิวธรรมชาติและวิวคนก็ยิ่งดีค่ะ ตอนแรกดรีมก็กลัวเพราะเลนจักยานมันอยู่ขนานกับรถยนต์เลย แต่เอาจริงๆปลอดภัยมาก แค่ต้องสังเกตเครื่องหมายดีๆ ถ้าดูไม่เป็นก็ปั่นตามคนข้างหน้าเอาค่ะ อีกอย่างที่อยากแนะนำมากคือ ช่วงหน้าร้อนขอทุกปีจะมีโชว์พรุของประเทศต่างๆค่ะส่งเข้าประกวดค่ะ น่าจะปีละสามประเทศ คนจะไปรอดูเยอะมาก นั่งรอกันตั้งแต่ช่วงหกโมง เม้ามอยและอูโน่กับฆ่าเวลา มีโดรนโชว์ก่อนพรุจะเริ่ม พอสีทุ่มก็เริ่มโชว์ค่ะ สวย อลังการ ชนะเลิศ.
Would you recommend VGC to other students who want to study business in Vancouver?
I would love to recommend this English language and business school in Vancouver to anyone considering their options. The curriculum is well-designed, and the teachers are experienced. If you’re unsure whether a career in business is right for you, this school is a great place to start. If you find that business is your path, you’ll be well-prepared to pursue it further. Even if it’s not, you’ll gain valuable skills that will benefit you in the future.
