Statement regarding the Omicron Variant

As the world continues to navigate the new Omicron variant, we’d like to give you an update on VGC’s response to this new challenge. VGC remains open and will continue to provide in-person classes to students. This will be subject to change only when the Provincial Health Authority mandates a school closure. If students prefer to study from home at this time, we still offer online programs as an alternative.

We take the health and safety of our students and staff very seriously. As such, we are using the Government of Canada’s Federal and Provincial guidelines and mandates to keep our school safe. At this time the government has stated that there are no plans to force schools and businesses to close.

We understand that many of our partners and students are concerned following the announcement that some schools are going fully online. At this point in time, we feel this is somewhat of a rush to judgement. VGC is in continuous conversation with government officials who at this time have no plans for school closures. We are aware that this is a quickly evolving situation and will keep you up to date as things develop or change.

We are actively watching what is happening across the country and will continue to monitor the situation following official advice. Rest assured that VGC students and staff must be fully vaccinated to work and study at our school. We are and will continue to be 100% vaccinated. Furthermore, mask mandates as well as other COVID-19 precautions are enforced on our campuses until this crisis passes.
